FAQ

14k gold-fill is a thick layer of solid 14k gold (5% of the piece's total weight by U.S. legal standard) mechanically bonded to a brass core. It's not plating. The gold layer is significantly thicker than gold-plated jewellery — typically 100 times thicker. Under normal wear, it won't tarnish, fade, or react with skin.
No. Solid gold is gold all the way through; gold-fill is gold over a brass core. The visible surface is the same — both look identical and feel similar. The difference is durability over time. Solid gold lasts a lifetime; gold-fill lasts 5–15 years under heavy daily wear, longer with lighter use.
Price. A piece that costs $65 in gold-fill would cost $145–$200 in solid gold. Gold-fill lets us make pieces accessible without using cheaper materials like plating, which actually does wear off quickly. Many of our customers buy a piece in gold-fill, then upgrade to the solid 14k version of the same design later.
Not under normal wear. Our solid 14k and 18k gold pieces won't tarnish — solid gold doesn't tarnish. Gold-fill won't tarnish under normal wear. Surgical-grade titanium won't tarnish ever. If a piece you've bought from us is tarnishing, contact us — that shouldn't happen.
Yes. Every metal we use is hypoallergenic. We don't use nickel anywhere in our pieces. We don't use sterling silver (the copper in sterling can react with sensitive skin). We don't use plating that can wear off and expose underlying metals.
"Surgical steel" is a vague term that often contains nickel. We don't use it. Our titanium pieces are ASTM F-136 implant-grade titanium — the same material used in medical implants — which is genuinely nickel-free and inert. It's the only metal we recommend for fresh piercings or for customers with severe metal sensitivities.
All of our gold is either recycled or Fairmined certified. Recycled gold has the same chemical and visual properties as freshly mined gold, but doesn't contribute to new mining. We work with two refineries in Toronto and Montreal. We can provide certification on request.
Yes. Our diamonds are either Canadian-mined (traceable to a specific mine) or lab-grown. Both are conflict-free with verifiable sourcing. We don't use diamonds without clear provenance.
Huggie sizes refer to the inside diameter. Most customers buy 8mm or 10mm. Smaller (6mm) sits closer to the lobe; larger (12mm) hangs slightly. If you're unsure, 10mm is the most universally flattering.
The most accurate way is to visit a local jeweller for a free professional sizing. If that's not possible, we offer a printable ring sizer (download here) and a free reusable plastic ring sizer (request at checkout, $0).
We offer one free resize per ring within the first six months. After that, resizing is $35–$75 depending on the piece. Some pieces (eternity bands with stones) cannot be resized.
Yes, for solid gold rings (sizes 4–11 standard; 3, 3.5, 11.5, 12 made to order). Custom sizes take an extra 1–2 weeks. Gold-fill pieces are made in standard sizes only.
We list the chain width in millimetres on every product page. Most of our chains are 1.0–1.5mm (delicate-fine), with a few thicker styles up to 2.5mm.

Yes — within 30 days, same conditions as returns. If the new piece is a different price, we adjust the difference.
Yes. All our pieces are designed for daily wear, including shower, gym, and ocean. Solid gold, gold-fill, and titanium all handle water without issue.
Occasional pool wear is fine. Heavy chlorine exposure (swimming laps regularly) can dull the finish over time on gold-fill. Solid gold is unaffected.
A soft cloth wipes off skin oils and dust. For deeper cleaning, mild dish soap and warm water, then pat dry. Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners.
Email us with photos. If the piece breaks under normal wear within the first year, we replace it free. After a year, we offer repairs at cost.
No. None of our materials cause skin discoloration. If you notice green marks from any jewellery, it's typically copper oxidation from sterling silver or low-quality plating — neither of which we use.

Typically 4–8 weeks from design approval to delivery, depending on complexity. Engagement rings with lab-grown diamonds usually take 4 weeks.
Two options: Canadian-mined diamonds (typically 0.30–1.50 carat range, traceable to a specific mine) or lab-grown diamonds (a wider range available). Most customers choose lab-grown for larger stones because the price difference is significant.
